We start our mornings early and when our grandson is here, he leaves for school by 7am.
He doesn't always want to eat breakfast but when he does, he can down a hearty serving of these waffles.
Sometimes I make them ahead and allow to cool completely.
Then seal in freezer zip-close bags.
When needed, just pop them into the toaster for a few minutes.
They are really easy to make and cost just pennies.
They come out of the waffle maker easily and all of the grandchildren love them.

You always make your recipes look and sound delicious.
We do the same when the grand-kids visit,... make and freeze them always works.
Thanks for sharing.
Sue
Those waffles look divine....I may have to make breakfast for dinner tonight!!
Love waffles but rarely make them. You have made these look very enticing! I'm ready to get out my 40 year old waffle iron!
Home made waffles are a favorite here too - in fact when each of the kids moved out solo one of the first small appliances each bought was a waffle-iron. I don't know how much use they've had, but it was a sweet thought.
I often separate my eggs and fold the beaten whites into the batter for a lighter waffle.
We love waffles around here. This is a bit different than the recipe I use so I will give it a try. I like pecans in my own with cinnamon butter syrup!!!! xo Diana
Oh, I adore waffles, sometimes I like them with tea, or coffee in the afternoon and if that's like at 6 pm, than it's dinner! I make them for my grandgirls when they come to stay with me too, a favorite of kids.
I'd love it if you can come and visit me as I have a giveaway for my 1 year blogg-a-versay and all you have to do is come and comment on the giveaway, that's it! Hugs,
FABBY
They look wonderful!~ We don't have them often enough.
I absolutely love waffles and yours look so good!

I love waffles! I just got my first ever waffle iron (YAY!) - Christmas gift from my parents-in-law. It's Swedish so the design is different to your one - Can't wait to start cracking out my waffles. Next weekend breakfast methinks!

I've never tried to make waffles from scratch. These look yummy
Lorraine, How you manage to make a rather plain waffle look like a breakfast for a king is beyond me. Love the fancy lettering on the top picture. Cool!
there's nothing like fresh made waffles in the morning, they really make me happy
These look fabulous. Your photography is lovely too. Popping in from Met Monday.
Have a great week

The waffles look so good! I make Norwegian waffles and the difference is the spice cardamom. But I may try to make these for a change.
Blessings and love,
Debbie
These look great. I'm a fan of all breakfast foods and sometimes do French toast for dinner. My favorite is to warm up the syrup for ten seconds. Wishes for a cozy Monday!
Hello LDH...Like most of your recipes, the waffles sound delish.
I made your cocktail meatballs for the holidays (still have some frozen in the freezer) and also the white chocolate cherry shortbread cookies. None of those left! ha!
Take care and have a great week. Susan
They look so good! Great breakfast! I do the same, I make them ahead so the kids have something good before they run out the door.
I picture them as young adults remembering grandma's waffles with love.
We love pancakes and waffles. We mix them up with pumpkin, blueberries and other fruits too.
What a grand grandmother you are! I'm sure your little grandson loves waking up to the smell of your wonderful waffles.
My 13 year old says he doesn't like pancakes. He wants waffles but we don't have a wafflemaker. :/ We are out the door by 7 am around here too. It's so dark outside when we ake up now. Makes it hard for everyone to get back into the groove after winter break. Have a great week. Tammy
Always a favorite at our house too! Santa brought my guy a double waffle maker and the grand-kiddos loved it on New Year's morning.
We make waffles all the time at our house, they are a favorite! Laura
Oh my goodness, these look wonderful! I think those are the perfect shade of golden brown. I'm thinking these beauties will be on our breakfast table this weekend :o)
Oh and by the way...your photography is stunning! Thank you for sharing ♥
Mmm:).
Great pictures! Great recipe! They look so yummy. What a great Sunday morning breakfast! I host a party on Fridays and I'd love for you to link up!

Those look amazing!!! Waffles are my all time favorite breakfast food.
I adore waffles and these look so good. Whenever we travel, I like those neat waffle makers that flip over. I do not make them at home very often, but just may have to try this. Thank you~
Wow, you've really tempted me to get out my old waffle iron! They look delicious. I love a crispy waffle with a big dollop of apple sauce! Great idea to freeze them. I'll have to try that for our grandson when we take care of him.
Your photography is so pretty and those waffles look absolutely delicious!
Waffles are our favorite - in fact, we have them every Wednesday (waffle Wednesday!) Thanks for the recipe!
Yum! I have this recipe somewhere but it's been a long time since I've made waffles. I noticed you posted a great cornbread recipe too. Wonder if all of us are thinking about food b/c we are trying to cut back right now? lol At least I am!
Hum, delicious!!!! thanks for sharing

Looks like making them is half the fun - kinda like pizelles!
They look so light and fluffy.
Enjoy your weekend!

LDH, thank you for visiting me at Thinking About Home, and for sharing your kind words.
I have recently found your lovely blog and am inspired by your gentle words, creative spirit, and love for home and family and, most of all, our Lord.
As I kept finding myself coming back to check for new posts, I decided to make it simple and just follow! :-D
Yumm, homemade waffles are just so good.
When I grow up I'm going to make waffles from scratch.
I haven't made homemade waffles in a very long time!
Delicious!
Waffles makes me happy; toss in a handful of chocolate chips and my finicky teen will be ecstatic!
